Dear Renee,
I have voted in favor of Brecksville's school levies since moving to this community three years ago. After reading your article regarding the BBH School Board's educational objective of teaching student's responsibility to a "global society" rather than to America, I am less inclined to vote for any levy in a school system that does not support and teach with vigor and pride the principles of freedom on which our country was founded. If this School Board cannot focus on the great value of patriotism and publicly state so in their goals, I fear that the students and community will suffer. The core of what is taught is far more important than financing the tools of teaching. The BBH Board may need to reconsider what exactly is of greater value in the scheme of life.

I agree wholeheartedly that if the schools "cannot focus on the great value of patriotism and publicly state so in their goals, the students and community will suffer." Because the influence school officials have on children and the molding of a future generation is so great, their actions need to be monitored and closely watched.
