For those of you who may be skeptical as to whether our schools are teaching our children to accept homosexuality, I would urge you to look at the BBH School Counseling Course of Study.

Even though the Watchdog notified the board (go) that schoolchildren, as young as nine-years old, are being taught in the classroom that effeminate behavior in boys is perfectly acceptable, the board reaffirmed its support of a school policy that promotes acceptance of homosexuality.  On January 23, 2009, the Crisis Intervention guidelines (#8410) which include sexual orientation language were re-published on the district's website.  (The Board members have never publicly expressed any rationale for thier support of such a policy.)

The hostile reaction in opposition to my letters to the editor in which I express a view that schools should not promote acceptance of homosexuality shows that I was correct to say that including sexual orientation language in school policy implies that it is wrong to oppose homosexuality.

It's official:  The BBH School District promotes acceptance of homosexuality, and we don't even know why.  That remains a mystery.  But one thing is quite clear:  The board just doesn't think it owes the public an explanation. go

The Watchdog discovered, four months after the fact, that the BBH school board adopted, July 2007, a bullying policy that set a precedent by including sexual orientation language.  The Board did not ever say during a public board meeting that it adopted that policy, which was later replaced (12-2007) with a bullying policy that does not contain sexual orientation language.

BBH School Board plans to adopt a bullying policy that protects students who engage in homosexual and cross-dressing behavior, but not offering that same protection to students who might object to such behavior.
